Rod Beddows has an extensive and long experience as a Strategy Consultant, Corporate adviser, Financial adviser and Company Director. The major part of his experience has been in the metals sectors; concentrating on the Ferrous value chain.
His clients have been in more than 20 jurisdictions and range from technologically innovative start-up ventures to the largest mining and steel corporates, in both the developed and emerging economies. He led the corporate finance advisory team for the $23bn Simandou iron ore project in Guinea.
On separate occasions he has been Global Senior Adviser for the Steel industry to 2 major international investment banks. He has also advised a number of industry bodies and governmental or quasi-governmental organisations, though preferring to work in the private sector. He was Special Advisor to the Executive Committee of the IISI (International Iron and Steel Institute, now The World Steel Association) for a year on a confidential assignment.
Amongst other current commitments he is Strategy and Finance adviser to the Vale, Mitsui, Kobelco JV offering solutions to the CO2 reduction challenge in Iron and Steel making and being a Director of Moxico Resources, a Copper miner.
Rod’s education was in both the UK and USA and includes a DBA from the Harvard School of Business. He has also been on the faculty of Harvard and Bradford Universities
